Trauma and Resiliency Coaching

Trauma Sensitive Law was founded by a trauma survivor for trauma survivors. While the goal of our professional trainings is to reduce further trauma from occurring, we also offer individual Trauma and Resilience Coaching for those who have already experienced it. This service is open to any individual who has experienced a deep hurt and is struggling to move forward.

It's a common myth that resiliency means "bouncing back" or "getting back to normal." In truth, trauma fundamentally alters our lives -- it changes our circumstances, but it also changes the physiology of our brains, impacting how we connect to other people, how we perceive the world around us, and even how we attach to ourselves. After we experience trauma, there's simply no going back to exactly how things were before.

Recovering from trauma and adjusting to your changed reality in its aftermath almost always requires at least one other person who offers a safe, secure, attuned connection. This is a person who will be there for you and who will help you sort through the rubble, learn to trust and hope again, and help you figure out how to move forward.

Many individuals seek this safe connection in a therapist's office, and when they meet a therapist whose demeanour and skills match their individual needs, they often find it. However, some individuals struggling with trauma feel that traditional psychotherapy isn't the right fit for them.

If you are looking for an alternate method of trauma recovery, trauma and resiliency coaching may be a good fit for you. Coaching involves many elements that feel similar to traditional therapy, but it approaches trauma with a future-oriented lens. Instead of starting with "let's find the hurt and investigate it," trauma and resilience coaching prioritises staying emotionally grounded during trauma narration and seeks to identify (and build on) what you're already doing right. Instead of "And how does that make you feel," we ask: "How did you manage to get out of bed this morning with all of that going on? Because even if you're feeling completely overwhelmed or hopeless right now, the fact that you're here means that you're doing something right. Let's start there."

Anna Fischer is an internationally accredited Trauma and Resilience Coach. You do not have to be a solicitor or a legal client to access this service. If you are a person who is feeling overwhelmed and would like to investigate trauma and resiliency coaching, please contact us through form below.
